Perfect Pork Steaks

Writer: Grab'em in the BrisketGrab'em in the Brisket

Purchased a pork butt and had it cut into 1 1/2" steaks. Total cost $8.


Make Seasoning:


SPG - 1/4 cup (for SPG recipe scroll to bottom)

Paprika - 1 tsp

Cayenne - 1/2 tsp

Red Pepper Flakes -

1/2 tsp


Season liberally and let sit for 20 minutes



Cook indirectly over charcoal or smoke until meat reaches 185 degrees then sear until 200ish (Probe for tenderness). Rest for 10-15 minutes. Then dig in.



SPG RECIPE Use a 4, 2, 1 ratio

Four parts Salt (Kosher)

Two parts Garlic

One part Pepper

OK y'all inspired me to do pork steaks for the first time and y'all are so right. I took a pork butt and cut them into about 1 1/2 inch thick steaks. These are badassery and why haven't I been cooking them monthly. #TraegerOn
