We recently attended the 2023 Rodeo Austin BBQ Cookoff it was an absolute blast! There was nearly 250 teams competing for the title of Grand Champion. After two days of smoking, grilling and lots of beers, the judges crowned Bill Purvis of Chicken Fried BBQ as the 2023 Grand Champion. His badass BBQ had the judges raving! The Reserve Grand Champion was Eddy Morales of The Pit Father BBQ. We want to give a huge shout out to Austin Smoke Works for hosting us again and putting on a hell of a party! As for us, we managed a 1st place in Beans, 21st in Ribs, 9th in BBQ Sauce and 12th in Chefs Choice. Chicken and Brisket were no shows. The 2023 Rodeo Austin BBQ Cookoff was an event to remember, with some of the best BBQ in the state of Texas. Congratulations to all of the competitors for their hard work and delicious BBQ!
